Packers vs. Rams, Week 7: St. Louis fans lament uneven offensive attack

The St. Louis Rams dropped their second-straight game on Sunday, allowing 13 points in the fourth quarter in a 30-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers. St. Louis had managed just six points through three quarters against the Packers before putting up 14 points in a failed rally attempt.

Rams blog Turf Show Timesremains frustrated with an uneven offensive attack by St. Louis:

The Rams are passing the ball more than they're running it. Why? I understand the need to move the ball in big chunks, but we shouldn't kid ourselves in regards to the WR unit. When we have games like this when the combination of Steven Jackson and Daryl Richardson are moving the ball at such an impressive rate (4.65 yards per carry), shouldn't we lean on them more? And when the passing game is so evenly distributed, if there's no go to guy in the air, why not lean on our go to guy on the ground?

Quarterback Sam Bradford was 21-of-34 for 255 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while running back Steven Jackson appeared to be on his way to one of his stronger games this season. Jackson had 57 yards rushing on 12 attempts and scored his first touchdown of the season, yet the Rams appeared to abandon the run as the game progressed.

Jackson, who is just over 500 yards shy of 10,000 yards rushing in his career, has not broken the 100-yard barrier this month and has rushed for more than 70 yards this season just once.

The Rams next face the New England Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 28 with kickoff set for 12 p.m. CT.
