Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings has elected to have surgery to repair an abdominal tear, according to a tweet by WBAY Green Bay’s Chris Roth. Jennings suffered the initial injury in the opening week of the season against the San Francisco 49ers, and has missed the past three weeks while trying to rest the injury. The surgery is not expected to end Jennings’ season, but no one is sure how much longer he will be out of action.

Jennings is having the worst year of his career, due almost entirely to the injury. He has only 12 catches for 78 yards and one touchdown, but has only been able to play in three games for the Packers. James Jones and Randall Cobb have stepped up in his absence, and pulling in 66 catches and ten touchdowns combined over Green Bay's first seven games.
The Packers face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Oct. 28th, at Lambeau Field.
