Andrew Luck hit Vick Ballard for an overtime touchdown to give the Colts a win.
Titans faithful struggle to stomach OT loss

Tom SzczerbowskiBut, as Music City Miracles dissected — and Titans fans experienced — the Colts were able to pull out a victory despite the solid production from all of the Titans’ cogs, a disappointing result.
Some blame was handed to the officials working the game, but even with the referees going against the Titans on Sunday, the production across the board seemed to be enough for it to not impact the game when it ended.

Frederick BreedonStampede Blue described Luck’s play as simply brilliant:
Indianapolis now has a stretch of play against Miami, Jacksonville, New England, and Buffalo where it can take a big step towards returning to the playoffs.

Scott CunninghamFantasy Impact: Hasselbeck distributed the ball very evenly during the game. Washington had six targets compared to five for Britt and Wright. While Washington appears to be Hasselbeck’s favorite receiver by a bit, all three wideouts are on essentially equal footing.
It’s tough to recommend any of the three receivers as a weekly starting fantasy option as long as they continue to split targets in an already mediocre passing offense. Any one of Washington/Wright/Britt is worth no more than Flex consideration in standard formats.

Don McPeak-US PRESSWIREJohnson has now rushed for over 90 yards in four of his last five games. On the year, he is averaging over 4.5 yards per carry after rushing for a career-low 4.0 YPC during the 2011 season.
Fantasy Impact: Granted it was a weak matchup, but it is safe to say at this point that Johnson is back. The offensive line is doing a nice job creating holes, and Johnson looks decisive running the ball. He had a solid day, though some owners will be disappointed Johnson didn’t go over the century mark and trigger a point bonus.

Jim Brown-US PRESSWIREFantasy Impact: Hasselbeck has gone 2-2 as the Titans’ starter, and while he hasn’t been terrible, he hasn’t really been an upgrade over Locker either. With Locker back in practice, expect him to resume his starting post in short order.

Grant HalversonFantasy Impact: With the performance, Brown reestablished himself as the starter in the Colts’ backfield. Ballard may not be completely phased out of the Colts’ gameplan, but going forward do not be surprised if Brown takes the lion’s share of touches.

Frederick BreedonFantasy Impact: Luck had a good day for fantasy owners Sunday, but he didn’t perform above and beyond how a lot of other starting fantasy quarterbacks did. Still, he was a viable option this week, throwing a touchdown pass for the first time since Week 5.
Luck is worth putting on your roster as a QB2, but he is still a ways away from being a weekly starter in standard formats. Look for another starting option if you can.

Don McPeak-US PRESSWIREThe Titans jumped in front with a field goal on the opening drive and while the Colts answered that with three points of their own, Tennessee notched a second quarter touchdown to go up 10-3 at halftime.
Indianapolis had to feel hard done at that point, having moved the ball on all three possessions, but they had to settle for a field goal on one, stalled in Titans territory on the second before punting and then having a field goal blocked on the third. They just couldn’t finish drives and it showed on the scoreboard.

Matt Hasselbeck is flopping mad

Matt SullivanMatt was obviously frustrated, and you just don’t pick on your elder when they’re having a bad day. Something tells me Hasselbeck is going to have a monologue directed at a chair with Hughes’ name on it later tonight.

NFL Inactives, Week 8: Colts vs. Titans

John GrieshopColts list Donald Brown active for Sunday

Jonathan DanielFantasy Impact: Brown will see snaps if extremely desperate fantasy owners need to start him this week. If you can avoid it, you’re better off staying away from the running back for now. There may be some rust to shake off, and Ballard may still handle most of the rushing load.
It’s too bad Brown’s status is so uncertain, because the Titans are an enticing matchup. They are giving up 134.7 yards rushing per game at 4.3 yards per carry on the season.

Reggie Wayne has risen from the grave to become one of the best fantasy wide receivers in 2012. He is Luck’s go-to guy, and is a must-start every week. Even in week’s Luck has struggled, Wayne has gotten plenty of looks. Start him with confidence.
