NFL trade deadline pushed back to Thursday, Nov. 1

The NFL trade deadline has been rescheduled from Tuesday, Oct. 30 to Thursday, Nov. 1 due to Hurricane Sandy

The NFL trade deadline has been rescheduled to Thursday, Nov. 1 at 4:00 p.m. ET because of Hurricane Sandy, according to the Director of NFC Football Communications, Randall Liu.

The deadline was initially scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30, however, complications are expected to arise as Hurricane Sandy hits the East coast. Many organizations as well as the NFL offices shut down operations Monday, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com. There is a chance the offices would remained close Tuesday as well.

The rescheduling from Tuesday to Thursday would allow teams the proper time and resources to complete any paperwork should a deal be done.

The NFL adjusted the trade deadline prior to the 2012 season, moving it back from Week 6 to Week 8 so as to encourage more trade talk among teams. Several names are rumored to be moved, most notably St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson, and any trade discussions can now continue until Thursday.
