Greg Jennings injury: Packers WR still taking it easy

Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings sat out of the team’s practice on Wednesday as he continues to deal with a nagging groin injury.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings sat out of the team's practice on Wednesday as he continues to deal with pain from a nagging groin injury, according to Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Jennings has been dealing with the injury all year, but he hasn't missed significant time yet this season.

The team is legitimately considering the possibility of shutting Jennings down until the pain subsides and he’s near full strength, as Wes Hodkiewicz of the Press-Gazette writes. The wide receiver still expects to play this week, but the possibility of him sitting out at least one game is apparently real.

Over his first three games of the season, Jennings has been quiet, catching just 12 passes for 78 yards with one touchdown. Given the Packers' variety of other receiving options, including Jordy Nelson, Jermichael Finley, James Jones and Randall Cobb, the team has survived without Jennings at his best thus far.
