The San Francisco 49ers cruised to their fourth victory of the season during Week 5, blowing out an overmatched Buffalo Bills team by a score of 45-3. The Niners dominated just about every facet of the game; Alex Smith threw for 304 yards and three scores, Michael Crabtree had his best game of the season with 113 yards and a touchdown, and Frank Gore had his way with 106 rushing yards on just 14 carries.
Bills Vs. 49ers, Week 5: San Francisco nearly perfect in 45-3 blowout
SB Nation’s 49ers blog, Niners Nation, was very pleased with their team’s performance on Sunday
This was as complete a victory as we have seen from the 49ers since...last week! But seriously, this two game stretch has seen the 49ers win by a combined score of 79-3. The Bills and Jets are obviously not among the better teams in the NFL at this point. At the same time, a domination like this is still a statement.
San Francisco will need to enjoy their victory briefly because the schedule is about to get a lot tougher. The New York Giants come to town in Week 6 for a matchup of last year's classic NFC Championship Game. That is followed by divisional home games with the Seahawks and Rams, with a road trip to take on the Cardinals sandwiched in between.
