Terrell Suggs injury: Ravens DE reportedly out until November

The Baltimore Ravens will be without veteran defensive end Terrell Suggs for at least another month, according to a report from the Baltimore Sun. Suggs, who has not played this season while recovering from surgery on his partially torn Achilles tendon, was originally expected to return in two weeks against the Texans. That is no longer the case.

As the Sun reported, rushing Suggs back to the field could cause a serious setback in his recovery. A return to the Ravens some time in late November now seems like the most likely scenario. He is currently on the Physically Unable To Perform List and will need some time in practice to get back into game shape.

Suggs was the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year last season, edging out Jared Allen of the Vikings. The 29-year-old defensive end led his team with 14 sacks and recorded 70 tackles on what was one of the better units in the AFC. Baltimore has struggled a bit defensively this season, ranking 20th in the league against opponents' rushing attack and 23rd against the pass.
