The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed wide receiver Arrelious Benn on injured reserve with knee and shoulder injuries, the team announced on Thursday. As a corresponding move, the Buccaneers signed wide receiver David Douglas away from the New York Giants' practice squad and placed him on the 53-man roster.
Arrelious Benn injury: Bucs WR placed on injured reserve
After his offensive production dropped off considerably from a year ago, Buccaneers wideout Arrelious Benn was placed on IR on Thursday.

Benn, a third-year pro out of Illinois, has caught just four passes for 26 yards in eight games this season. He has also been a contributor on special teams, gaining 306 yards on 13 return attempts and making a team-leading six tackles in kick coverage. Benn’s best NFL season came in 2011, when he had 30 receptions for 441 yards and three touchdowns.
Douglas has been on the Giants’ practice squad throughout the season after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in May. As a senior at Arizona in 2011, Douglas racked up 666 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
The Buccanneers host the division-leading Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
