Packers vs. Giants game recap: November slump over as New York routs Green Bay, 38-10

Eli Manning bounced back from a string of poor performances by setting a New York Giants record for passing touchdowns in a 38-10 romp over the Green Bay Packers.

The New York Giants blew open a rematch of an NFC Playoffs matchup from last season, winning 38-10 in a convincing win over the Green Bay Packers.

New York was supposedly suffering from a November slump after losing two straight while the Packers had won five in a row. But the Giants were up 31-10 at the half and didn’t look back.

The Giants won the game up front, sacking Aaron Rodgers five times, flushing him out of the pocket and holding him to 14-of-25 passing before he gave way to Graham Harrell with the game out of hand. Rodgers looked like he'd be off to a great night after burning Corey Webster on a 61-yard touchdown pass on the Packers' first drive, but they would only score three points after that, with Webster getting Rodgers back with an interception and Osi Umenyiora forcing a fumble on a sack.

On the other side of the ball, Eli Manning broke the franchise record for passing touchdowns with a third-quarter strike to Hakeem Nicks, his 200th. The ground game was also big, as the Giants piled up 148 yards behind a strong performance from their offensive line. The Giants benefited from good field position off of two turnovers, but that only accounted for 10 of their 38 points.

Both teams sit at 7-4, with New York on top of the NFC East and Green Bay a game behind the Bears.

Fantasy studs and duds

Manning was the star of the show, with 249 yards passing three touchdowns, and no picks, while Bradshaw had 119 combined yards and a touchdown as well. None of Manning's receivers had ridiculous nights, as he spread the ball between five different receivers -- Nicks' 77-yards and a touchdown led the way. Jordy Nelson's 61-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter prmade his evening an okay one, but he only had ten other yards receiving on the evening.

Rodgers’ evening was pretty tame for him, with 219 yards with a touchdown and a pick.

Injury report

Kenny Phillips returned from missing six games with a knee injury, but had to leave in the second half after hurting the same knee. He sat for the remainder of the game as the team examined it.

Andre Brown was hurt on a late carry when his lower leg was caught under a tackler's body - he went to the locker room to receive X-rays.

Did they cover?

New York opened as 1-1/2-point favorites meaning they covered by a good margin
