Bowman and the rest of the 49ers’ linebacker corps are locked into long-term contracts. Aldon Smith’s rookie contract locks him up through 2014, while Patrick Willis and Ahmad Brooks are signed through 2016 and 2017.

Ezra ShawThrough 11 games on the 2012 campaign, the 24-year-old Bowman has amassed 100 tackles (68 solo), assisted on 33 tackles and added two sacks and one interception for the vaunted 49ers defense. The 6’0 linebacker out of Penn State was the 91st selection in the 2010 NFL Draft.
UPDATE: Albert Breer of the NFL Network is reporting the deal to be worth $45.25 million over five years. Bowman will receive $25.5 million guaranteed.
