Brandon Weeden injury: Browns expect QB to play

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden has been cleared to practice.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden was cleared to participate in practice on Wednesday and will take part in all activities, according to head coach Pat Shurmur. Weeden was present in team meetings, as well as the team's walkthrough.

Shurmur stated on Monday that he could not predict whether the rookie quarterback would be able to play in Sunday's matchup with the Oakland Raiders. Weeden sustained a head injury in the Browns' Week 12 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers when he took a hit while attempting a pass to wide receiver Josh Gordon in the fourth quarter.

Weeden left the game after suffering the blow and did not return. According to initial reports, Weeden was described as fine and his removal from the game was explained as a precautionary maneuver.

In 11 games, Weeden has registered 2,456 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions on 397 attempts. He has started every game this season.
