Eagles vs. Saints 2012: New Orleans fans excited after Monday night victory
New Orleans fans are pleased after a solid performance by the Saints against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.

New Orleans is now 3-5 overall this season after losing their first four games. Hans Peterson of Canal Street Chronicles offers a realistic but also optimistic view of how the Saints defense performed Monday:
The defense gave up more than 400 yards for the 8th consecutive game (a record!), but they sacked Michael Vick seven times, picked him off once (for a 99-yard TD by Patrick Robinson), and stopped the Eagles five times in the red zone. THAT’S WINNING!
Peterson is also impressed with how New Orleans handled adversity in the Monday night game, and is hopeful that it is indicative of future performance:
But what I was most impressed with was that they didn’t fold when things started going the Eagles’ way early in the second half. Here’s hoping this represents that start of a new run for the Saints.
The Saints are at home next week as they face the NFC South division-leading Atlanta Falcons. The game will be televised on FOX, and the kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
