Dez Bryant injury: Finger fracture for Cowboys WR

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant’s injury is a fractured index finger, according to Calvin Watkins.

The injury that Dez Bryant played through during Dallas' 20-19 win over the Cincinnati Bengals appears to be a fractured index finger, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com.

According to Watkins, there is still no update on Bryant’s long-term status.

After playing through a portion of the game with the injury to his left index finger, Bryant saw a hand specialist to determine the injury. He was originally rumored to have a sprained finger. It is still unclear whether the young wide receiver will need to be put on injured reserve, a move that would be a big blow to the Cowboys' offense as they try and boost the team's playoff chances.

If the fractured finger requires surgery, a move to the IR will likely be inevitable for Bryant.

Bryant has been one of the best playmakers for the Cowboys this season, with 75 catches for 1,028 yards and nine touchdowns on the season.
