Jaguars vs. Dolphins game recap: Ryan Tannehill nearly perfect as Miami breezes to 24-3 win

The Dolphins’ rookie quarterback was efficient and effective in an easy Miami win

Thanks to efficient, mistake-free days from Reggie Bush and Ryan Tannehill, the Dolphins improved to 6-8 with a 24-3 win over the lowly Jaguars on Sunday.

Tannehill had one of the best days of his young career, connecting on 22 of 28 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns. The rookie from Texas A&M, who continues to impress even as the season travels into its final weeks, directed two 80-plus-yard drives before his touchdown tosses to Anthony Fasano and Jorvorskie Lane.

For the Jaguars, this played out like just about any other game -- very little offense, inept defense, rinse, repeat, etc.

It's hard to find a lot of hope for the Jaguars other than looking to the future -- Justin Blackmon caught his 49th pass today, a franchise rookie record. The Jags now are knocking on the door of the first pick and, if compelled to trade Maurice Jones-Drew, could gain a few other draft picks. So maybe it can all be turned around soon.

Stat of the game: Statistically speaking, this was Ryan Tannehill's best game ever -- his best completion percentage (78.6 percent) and best passer rating (123.2)

Fantasy studs/duds: Tannehill was a good play (maybe you had him filling in for RG3?) as was Reggie Bush, who had 107 rushing yards. Cecil Shorts had a nice day for the Jags, with six catches for 101 yards

Did they cover?: Miami was a seven-point favorite, and did cover.

Injury info: Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll left the game with a knee injury and defensive end Chris Clemons left the game with a neck injury.

Next team on the schedule: The 6-8 Dolphins welcome Buffalo to the Sunshine State while the poor Jaguars host the Patriots.
