The Indianapolis Colts had hoped that they could win the division and get a home playoff game, but those hopes were dashed by a 29-17 loss to the Houston Texans. That gives the Texans a 12-2 record and the AFC South crown this season. Houston has the best record in the AFC and can clinch the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs if they beat the Vikings and win at Indianapolis in their last two games.

Despite losing the division, Indianapolis still has the inside edge on a wild card berth.

That does not mean that Andrew Luck is out of the race for a playoff run in his rookie season. The Colts (9-5) lead the AFC Wild Card standings with a one-game lead over the Bengals and a 1.5-game lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are playing the Cowboys in an afternoon matchup. The Colts, Bengals and Steelers are the only non-division-leading teams in the AFC with winning records.
If Indianapolis can win in Kansas City next week, the Colts will clinch a Wild Card berth.
