Richard Sherman suspension: Seahawks CB will have appeal heard Friday

It’s unknown if the NFL will rule on the appeal immediately or not.

When Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman were given four-game suspensions for violating the NFL's policy against performance enhancing substances after their loss to the Miami Dolphins, it was considered a big blow to the Seahawks' playoff hopes. Both vowed to appeal their suspensions, but Browner decided to start serving his before the Seahawks 58-0 drubbing of the Arizona Cardinals. Sherman's hearing for his appeal has been delayed but it seems he'll get a chance to make his case on Friday according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Schefter also noted it's unknown whether the appeal would be ruled on immediately or later on.

Sherman has maintained his innocence all along. USA Today reported Sherman drank from a teammate's water bottle which contained Adderall, something the Seahawks cornerback also denied. If Sherman's appeal is denied on Friday, he'd start serving his suspension immediately which would include two Seahawks playoff games. Browner, on the other hand, will be available to the Seahawks when the playoffs get under way as he'll serve the final game of his suspension in the last regular-season game against the St. Louis Rams.

The Seahawks take on the San Francisco 49ers in a critical NFC West match-up in prime time this Sunday from CenturyLink Field.
