Led by a career performance from rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden, the Cleveland Browns held on for a hard-fought 20-17 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon.

Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden and the Browns picked up a key road victory over the Raiders on Sunday.
The 29-year-old Weeden set a new career high with 364 yards through the air to lead the offense, and managed to chip in his 13th touchdown pass of the year on a 44-yard completion to Josh Gordon in the second quarter. Gordon led all players with 116 receiving yards on the day, and was one of five Cleveland players to finish the game with at least 30 yards receiving.
Rookie tailback Trent Richardson added 72 rushing yards and 23 receiving in yet another promising performance, with his 3-yard touchdown run with 3:27 remaining effectively ending the game. Despite throwing 54 passes on the afternoon, Oakland quarterback Carson Palmer was not able to find the end zone until more than 44 minutes of clock time had elapsed. Palmer tossed a futile touchdown pass to his tight end Brandon Myers with just one second remaining, and racked up 351 yards passing in the loss.
