Matt Forte Injury: Bears running back suffers ankle injury
Matt Forte left the Bears’ game against the Cardinals with an ankle injury and won’t return
Forte, who's no stranger to injuries, especially those to his legs, had 88 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries before he left. He also has one reception for 7 yards. He'll likely be replaced by Armando Allen, the only other Bear who has a carry. Forte's usual backup, Michael Bush, was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with broken ribs.
Forte has 992 rushing yards on the season and four touchdowns, a disappointment after erupting last year and signing a long-term contract in the offseason. He’s missed two games already due to injury, and the Bears have to hope he’ll come back in Week 17, because there will be a heck of a lot of 9-6 teams battling for the final playoff spots in the NFC.
