Bears vs. Cardinals 2012: Arizona repeats mistakes in 28-13 loss

For a team that has continually made errors on both sides of the ball all season long, the Cardinals made few adjustments in Week 16.

After showing signs of progression last weekend, the Arizona Cardinals continued to struggle in Week 16 against the Bears. Arizona's offense didn't do much and the defense was unable to hold in the red zone as the Bears went on to win convincingly, 28-13.

The loss was the Cardinals’ 10th defeat of the season, and it seems likely they’ll drop their season finale against San Francisco next week. For a year that began with so much promise, Arizona really has hit the skids. As SB Nation’s Cardinals blog, Revenge of the Birds, reflected in their post-game story, Week 16 was more of the same from coach Ken Whisenhunt’s bunch.

With the Arizona Cardinals falling to the Chicago Bears 28-13, it was just another example of all that has one wrong for the team. They turned the ball over three times, allowed two defensive touchdowns and failed to take advantage of scoring opportunities when they had them. Combine that with more bad quarterback play and one drive in which the defense just did not play well, and you have the game and the season in a nutshell.

Ryan Lindley made the start for Arizona, and despite a solid game against Detroit last week, he really struggled against a stout Chicago defense. Lindley was lifted in the second half in favor of Brian Hoyer, who didn't provide any kind of lift for the offense. Until the Cards find a reliable quarterback, it's tough to imagine their offensive attack improving at all.

Revenge of the Birds also detailed a couple of positives to take away from the loss, although they were few and far between.
