Jaguars vs. Bills, Week 13: ‘The Bills played a solid game’

The Buffalo Bills got over 200 yards on the ground in a relatively easy 34-18 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ryan Fitzpatrick wasn’t up to much due to a steady downpour that made passing difficult, but Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller went off.

The Buffalo Bills ran all over the Jacksonville Jaguars, scoring 27 consecutive points to pull away in a comfortable 34-18 victory that keeps the Bills' outside shot at a playoff spot alive.

The game was won on the ground by the Bills: Ryan Fitzpatrick only threw the ball 17 times on a rainy day in Buffalo, but C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson more than picked up the slack, with the team accumulating 232 yards on the ground. Matt Warren of Bills blog Buffalo Rumblings commended the team's backs on their effort in his postgame recap:

Buffalo amassed a 34-10 lead after an exhilarating 44-yard touchdown run by C.J. Spiller. He finished with 77 yards on the ground and 7 yards receiving, snapping his streak of consecutive 100-yard games at six. Fred Jackson pounded the rock for 109 yards on the ground and 10 on two receptions. Even Brad Smith got in on the act gaining 28 yards on two Wildcat runs.

On the other side of the ball, Buffalo was stout: the Jaguars only got 50 net yards rushing on 18 carries -- that’s 2.8 per attempt -- and Matt Henne looked absolutely dreadful, completing only 18 of 41 attempts.

Next up for Buffalo are the St. Louis Rams. The Bills can't win the AFC East -- New England clinched Sunday with a win over Miami -- but a Wild Card berth is still a possibility, albeit a very slim one.
