Dez Bryant injury: Cowboys WR heads to locker room with apparent back injury

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has left Sunday’s game with the Redskins and has been taken to the locker room with an apparent lower back injury.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has suffered an apparent lower back injury and has left the Cowboys' Sunday night game with the Washington Redskins and has gone into the Cowboys locker room. Bryant, who was visibly clutching his lower back after running a route early in the fourth quarter.

Bryant's status to return is unknown at this time. Bryant's back appeared to seize up and while on the sidelines, he was clearly relying upon trainers and staff members to hold him up. Eventually, after some evaluation, Bryant was taken to the locker room for further examination.

Before leaving the game with the apparent injury, Bryant had four catches for 71 yards on eight targets from quarterback Tony Romo. The Cowboys are down, 21-18, midway through the fourth quarter of the final game of the 2012 NFL regular season. Before Sunday night's game, Bryant had 88 receptions for more than 1,300 yards on the season while helping the Cowboys get to the brink of a playoff berth.
