The Washington Redskins won a head-to-head fight for the NFC East title, beating the Dallas Cowboys 28-18 behind a 200-yard, three-touchdown rushing performance from Alfred Morris.

Tony Romo had the chance to bring the Dallas Cowboys back trailing late against the Washington Redskins, but he threw his third pick of the day, allowing Alfred Morris’ brilliant performance to stand up.
Tony Romo tossed two interceptions in the first quarter, and although he bounced back with a pair of touchdown throws, he sealed his team's fate with a fourth-quarter pick as they tried to drive for the win or a tie. Robert Griffin III wasn't great through the air, but ran for a touchdown and didn't need to do much else with Morris absolutely gashing the Cowboys on the ground.
The teams matched each other early on: a Kai Forbath field goal off the upright ensured the scores would be tied after a first quarter with no score, and Morris and Jason Witten traded touchdowns in the second. But RGIII scored on his team's second drive in the third to give his team a seven-point lead heading into the final quarter of play.
Dan Bailey drilled a field goal to bring the Cowboys closer, but Morris once again found paydirt, cutting back on a winding 32-yard run to give his team an 11-point lead. Dallas made it interesting, capitalizing on a great Dwayne Harris return capped off by a personal foul penalty with a 10-yard touchdown to Kevin Ogletree, followed up by a two-point conversion to Harris. The Redskins were forced to punt, giving Romo three-and-a-half minutes to tie or win the game.
Romo wouldn't, lofting an ugly screen pass under heavy pressure, with linebacker Rob Jackson jumping the route to give his team the ball in field goal range. The Cowboys appeared to have forced a field goal, but a roughing the passer call gave the Redskins a fresh set of downs that essentially ended the game. Morris would punch the ball in on a one-yard carry to put the game out of reach.
Fantasy studs and duds
Alfred Morris was unstoppable for the Redskins, finding the end zone three times and finishing with 200 yards. Washington would give him the ball over and over again - on the team’s third-quarter scoring drive, he got the ball five straight times, running for 49 yards - and Dallas had no answer. A great game from Morris on a day fellow rookie Robert Griffin III didn’t have it going through the air.
Miles Austin hurt his ankle early in the game, and ended up without a reception. Tony Romo had 202 yards passing, but tossed three picks.

Dez Bryant and Miles Austin each had to leave the game at various points, with a back and an ankle injury.
