Eric Hartline-USA TODAY SportsThe dynamic reporting duo heard from a source that “the major issues have been discussed and agreed upon” so it’s looking it’s only a matter of time until it’s official. Likewise, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora is reporting that the deal will likely be finalized by the end of the day, with Reid no longer planning to travel to San Diego or Arizona for additional interviews.
Reid is expected to be given complete control over all football operations, so it remains unclear if general manager Scott Pioli will stay on board. There have been some rumors that the recently-fired Tom Heckert has been looking to reunite with his old friend Reid so it’s looking like Pioli could be the next one escorted out of the Chiefs’ facilities.

Hunt released a statement that said he had a “tremendous amount of respect” for Crennel, but the team needed to move in a new direction. Hunt added that he was “embarrassed by the poor product” the franchise provided for its fans in 2012, and after personally apologizing, he promised to do whatever he can to make Kansas City a “dramatically better team.”

Koetter has never been a head coach in the NFL, but has head coaching experience at the college level. After building a 26-10 record in three seasons at Boise St., he spent six seasons at Arizona St. from 2001 to 2006, accumulating a 40-34 record with the Sun Devils.
Under Koetter, the Falcons ranked sixth in the NFL in passing yards, averaging 281.8 per game and were eighth in total offense at 369.1 yards-per-game. The Falcons ranked seventh in the league in points-per-game, averaging a shade more than 26 points.
