Ray Lewis injury: Ravens LB expected to practice Wednesday

The Baltimore Ravens may have 13-time Pro Bowl linebacker Ray Lewis back in action for Week 15, as he’s set to practice on Wednesday for the first time since his surgery.

The Baltimore Ravens might be close to getting All-Pro linebacker Ray Lewis back from injury. Ed Werder of ESPN reports that the Ravens are planning for Lewis to practice for the first time since surgery to repair a torn triceps on Wednesday. Lewis had the surgery seven weeks ago, and many outlets reported the injury as "season-ending" at the time.

According to the report, Lewis could return to the lineup in Week 15 when the Ravens play the Denver Broncos, barring any kind of setback. As noted, that game has significance due to the likely event that Baltimore and Denver are competing for home-field advantage in the playoffs, as they are both division leaders.

The 13-time Pro Bowler tore his triceps in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys, and underwent surgery soon after. He was added to injured reserve to free up a roster spot, but was designated for a potential return, which was made possible by a rule change this offseason.
