Brandon Browner’s 4-game suspension begins this week

Brandon Browner's four-game suspension will begin this Sunday when his Seattle Seahawks face the Arizona Cardinals, according to the Seattle Times. The cornerback has reportedly dropped his appeal for breaking the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy and will not wait to go through the appeal process.

Official word was given Wednesday afternoon, the Seattle Times reports.

With an immediate suspension, Browner will miss the remainder of the regular season but will be available to return for the Seahawks should they make the postseason. If Seattle falls short of a playoff berth, Browner will return at the beginning of next season.

Browner and fellow Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman tested positive for banned substances on the same day in September, and Sherman has been free to play until his Dec. 14 appeal hearing date.

Browner, in just his second NFL season at 28 years old, was a Pro Bowler last season with Seattle. This year, he has 35 tackles, three forced fumbles and three interceptions for the Seahawks.
