Bills ugly on offense in loss to St. Louis

    Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

Bills blogger Matt Warren of Buffalo Rumblings credited some unfortunately timed mistakes for the team’s downfall in his postgame recap:

At 5-8, the Bills aren’t mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but its pretty bleak.

Rams vs. Bills, Week 14: Rams back in playoff hunt

    Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Spor

Turf Shows Times will take even an ugly win:

Chicago holds the last spot at 8-5 with Washington, Dallas and Minnesota each a half-game ahead of the Rams at 7-6. Tampa is also still barely in the hunt at 6-7.

    Ryan Fitzpatrick has average performance

    Rick Stewart

Fantasy Impact: Fitzpatrick performed about as expected; hopefully you weren’t relying on him in the fantasy playoffs. His 247 yards were his most since Nov. 11, but only one touchdown isn’t going to win you many games.

Sam Bradford has below average day in win

    Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Spor

Fantasy Impact: It is unlikely that you were starting Sam Bradford, but he performed just about as expected. Bradford only has 15 touchdown passes on the season through 13 games, so it’s not like this game was a surprisingly slow day for the Rams quarterback.

Fred Jackson leaves game with knee injury

    Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Spor

Fantasy Impact: Jackson did not offer much fantasy value before getting injured. He was held under two yards per carry and lost a fumble. Disappointing for fantasy owners after Jackson’s strong Week 13 performance.

Of course the worse news is the injury. There is no word on the severity yet, but it is possible his season could be over.

C.J. Spiller held in check by Rams

    Rick Stewart

Spiller was used sparingly by the Bills in a game they led for much of the day. He received the fewest touches he has had in a game since Oct. 7. Spiller was relatively effective, averaging over five yards per carry, but still was not given the ball frequently.

  • Rams win on late TD

    Rick Stewart

The last-minute touchdown came at the end of a 14-play, 84-yard drive, and redeemed what had been a difficult afternoon for Bradford and the St. Louis offense.

Following the touchdown, the Rams went for two and succeeded, providing the final margin.

    Danny Amendola ruled inactive

    Scott Kane-US PRESSWIRE

Fantasy Impact: Givens is worth targeting as a WR3 this week in standard fantasy formats. He is considerably more valuable, still, in PPR leagues. He basically played Amendola’s role last week against the Niners. Going up against a bad Bills secondary in a cold game that may not feature much downfield passing, Givens could have another solid outing.

Amendola to test foot in warm-ups

    David Welker

Amendola was limited in practice throughout the week before being given a questionable designation on Friday. He has played just six full games this season for the Rams, but saw double-digit targets in four of those games.

Fantasy Impact: The good news for fantasy owners is that the Rams kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET. If he is ruled out at game-time, there will at least be plenty of replacements available to slide into starting lineups. He is a solid bet to see plenty of targets working out of the slot.

Stevie Johnson (hamstring) ready to play

    Matthew Stockman

Johnson has 55 catches for 705 yards and five TDs on the season.

Fantasy Impact: Johnson is ready to play, but it’s uncertain how effective he will be running on a bum leg in what’s expected to be nasty weather.

Bills, Rams, square off with slim playoff hopes

    US PRESSWIRE

A pair of teams hanging on to slim playoff hopes meet Sunday in Buffalo, as the St. Louis Rams take on the Bills.

For St. Louis, things have turned around somewhat as they’ve won two straight games. It took them just about ten quarters to break a deadlock with the San Francisco 49ers: the squads tied in their first matchup, and nearly did again Sunday, as Greg Zuerlein’s game-winning field goal came over 14 minutes into the overtime period between the squads. However, it was a worrisome day for the offense, with the team’s points coming on a safety, a defensive touchdown, and two field goals.
