Rams vs. Bills final score: Gibson catches game-winning TD pass in St. Louis’ 15-12 win

Sam Bradford found Brandon Gibson for a game-winning touchdown pass with 54 seconds to play as the Rams came from behind to beat the Bills, 15-12.

A 13-yard pass from Sam Bradford to Brandon Gibson in the final minute was the difference as the St. Louis Rams edged the Buffalo Bills, 15-12, on Sunday from Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The last-minute touchdown came at the end of a 14-play, 84-yard drive, and redeemed what had been a difficult afternoon for Bradford and the St. Louis offense.

Following the touchdown, the Rams went for two and succeeded, providing the final margin.

The only scoring of the first half came on two field goals from Buffalo kicker Rian Lindell. The first, with 2:17 to go in the first quarter, was from 35 yards out and ended a 10-play, 56-yard drive. The second, with just 10 seconds remaining in the first half, gave the Bills a 6-0 lead at intermission. That one was from 40 yards.

But St. Louis responded, grabbing the lead in the third quarter on a one-yard run from Steven Jackson. That accounted for the only rushing touchdown of the game and put the Rams ahead, 7-6.

The lead did not least long, however. Just five minutes later, Ryan Fitzpatrick hit Lee Smith with a two-yard pass to put the Bills back on top. Fitzpatrick finished the game 25-of-32 passing for 247 yards and the touchdown.

The scoring stopped there until the game’s final minute, allowing for the Rams’ late heroics.

Fantasy studs and duds

The game certainly wasn’t a fantasy showcase, with just 25 total points of offense between the two teams. Bradford had a particularly tough day up until the end, but ended up throwing 19-of-39 for 209 yards. He also threw an interception to go along with the game-winning touchdown. Jackson rushed for a game-high 64 yards on 19 carries with one touchdown.

Injury report

The Rams' Rodger Saffold went down in the third quarter with an injured back. He was replaced by Wayne Hunter at left tackle.

Did they cover?

The Bills came into the game favored by 3½, so no they did not cover. The total for the game was set at 42½. The two teams didn’t even come close.
