Chicago Bears rookie linebacker J.T. Thomas was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana on Monday (via WVMetroNews.com). The misdemeanor charge means he was reportedly in possession of less than 15 grams of marijuana.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. in Morgantown, W.V., where Thomas went to college. He was reportedly driving the wrong way on University Avenue, a one-way street. He was also reportedly driving over the 25 MPH speed limit. When he pulled over and was asked for his registration, police reported to see two bags of what they believed to be marijuana.

Thomas was in town raising money for his foundation. He last made headlines when he took a disabled girl to her eighth-grade dance in 2011.

Thomas was a sixth-round draft pick out of West Virginia. He suffered an injury last season and did not play.
