Plaxico Burress Wants To Join The Philadelphia Eagles

Plaxico Burress does little to hide his desire to play for the Eagles during an interview with a Philadelphia radio station.

Considering Plaxico Burress was coming off two full seasons away from the football field, his 2011 has to be considered a massive success. He played in all 16 of the New York Jets regular-season games, he made 45 catches, racked up more than 600 yards and caught eight touchdowns. Now that he's re-established himself, the 34-year-old is already eyeing greener pastures. Specifically, the shade of green worn by the Philadelphia Eagles.

In an interview with Philadelphia radio station 97.5 The Fanatic, Burress left little doubt about his interest in playing for the Eagles (via Sports Radio Interviews):

“Hey man, nothing else would make me happier. Obviously coming to Philadelphia, instituting myself into the offense, it just adds a unique dynamic to what’s already in place. ... I just see myself in that offense just being out there on the edge. You’re talking about all the guys that’s already in place in their offense, there’s just so many options. ... So it would be dynamic to get me down there in that offense, especially with Mike and all the ability that he has at quarterback and being able to roll out, get outside on the edge and run the ball in for touchdowns. So we’ll see what happens.”

At least part of Burress' desire to join the Eagles seems to be about his relationship with Michael Vick. The two players have similar backgrounds and seem to share a similar story of coming back from time in jail to succeed in the NFL.
