Tim Tebow Trade Won’t Bring In Much Of A Haul

With Peyton Manning now in the fold, the Denver Broncos will be looking to shop Tim Tebow to the highest bidder. Ideally, they would like to get back the first-round draft pick they spent on him in 2010, though those who have seen him throw doubt he will garner that much on the free market. Teams may be willing to overspend on Tebow knowing that he would likely bring a surge in ticket sales and publicity. According to former NFL general manager Charley Casserly, that won't be enough for any team to give up a high draft pick, however.

“I’d be surprised if there is much of a trade value for him,” Casserly told USA Today. “I think it’s true that he could move the ball in the Denver offense, but if you break down the majority of his games, he didn’t throw the ball well. Coming out, there wasn’t a lot of interest in him, and that’s usually a pretty good indicator of trade value down the road.

“I’d be surprised if he went for much better than a fifth rounder.”

Tebow grew up in Jacksonville, so it's no surprise that the Jaguars are among the earliest names being tossed around as a possible landing spot. The Miami Dolphins lost out on Manning and Matt Flynn, and could be willing to make an offer as well. Stay tuned in the mean time.
