Tim Tebow was brought to the New York Jets to backup starting quarterback Mark Sanchez, run some plays out of a wildcat set, and according to Tim Tebow, compete for a starting job. He was very effective as a runner for the Denver Broncos last season and will probably be useful as a ball carrier, but that's not all he's going to be doing for the Jets in 2012. They're also going to use him in punt protection.

Tebow has the body type and running style of a large, bruising fullback, so it makes sense that he would be given a special teams role normally reserved for large bruising fullback. If Tebow fills the role well, get ready for a lot more calls for him to change positions.
