Peyton Manning will soon officially be introduced as the newest quarterback of the Denver Broncos and though they probably won't say it publicly this means that the Broncos will also start trying to trade Tim Tebow. ESPN has the initial list of potential trade partners including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers (yes, Green Bay). More potential trade partners will come along but those are the list of early favorites, a list that will probably be fluid.
When Will Tim Tebow Trade Talks Start?
So when exactly can we expect a Tebow trade? Peter King of SI.com wouldn’t be surprised if talks started immediately.
I believe the Broncos, once the fervor of the Manning announcement dies down, could go to work immediately to try to make a market for Tebow. Immediately -- like, tonight. What’s to gain by stretching this out? Denver wants the one big story now and into the future to be the transition to Manning. They don’t want the Tebow deal to be a cloud over the franchise now.
He makes a good point about Denver wanting to keep the spotlight on Manning, and not Tebow’s exit. The departure of Tebow will be a major deal in Denver, where 43 percent of fans in a Mile High Report poll said the team should’ve stuck with Tebow.
The trade rumors should be flowing soon. Manning’s introductory press conference is at 3 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday.
