Tim Trade Is Possible, Broncos’ John Elway Confirms

John Elway met the media after introducing Peyton Manning on Tuesday afternoon, and as expected a number of questions were about the future of Tim Tebow. Adding Manning, a future Hall of Famer, obviously means Tebow won't be the starting quarterback anymore.

Elway confirmed to the media that trading Tebow is possible, and he has told Tebow that. Elway and head coach John Fox called Tebow on Monday to tell him about Manning’s addition and also told him that a trade is possible. Tebow’s response was “typical”, Elway said -- very positive and that he understood the move to get Manning.

When asked about Tebow’s future, Elway said:

“We’re going through that proces now,” Elway said when asked about Tebow. We’re going to look at that obviously. Coach Fox and I called Tim last night and talked to him about it. Having been in this game for as long as I have, and seen as many friends as i’ve seen in this game be gone, there one day and gone the next, this is a tough business.”

That Elway was so open about the possibility of a Tebow trade tells you he’s probably gone. The only question now is which teams are interested in Tebow.
