Tim Tebow Trade Rumors Include 4 Teams

The recent signing of superstar Peyton Manning to the Denver Broncos has only generated a brand-new set of rumors and speculation. What will become of incumbent Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow?

John Elway has confirmed that a trade involving Tebow is a possibility for Denver, so the rumor mill is now swirling about where the polarizing QB might land. Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk has learned that there are four teams in the running for Tebow’s services.

Along with an as-yet-unknown team (which may or may not be the Miami Dolphins), the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets and Green Bay Packers all appear to be interested. In Green Bay and New York, Tebow would obviously be used as a backup quarterback, although if Mark Sanchez shows signs of struggling for the Jets during the season, Tebow could end up forcing himself into the conversation. One of the sticking points for Jacksonville may be an internal debate about whether to acquire Tebow.

In Jacksonville, the split of opinion could be getting smoothing over. G.M. Gene Smith originally didn’t want Tebow, owner Shad Khan does, and there are indications that Smith is coming around.

Regardless of where Tebow lands, the 2012 offseason is shaping up to be far more interesting than anyone could have predicted.
