Kyle Boller could soon find himself back in the graces of the Baltimore Ravens, the team that drafted him No. 19 overall in 2003 with hopes that he would become the franchise's quarterback of the future. He is one of three quarterbacks, including Dennis Dixon and Curtis Painter, who will work out for the Ravens on Thursday as they look to add some backup quarterback competition for Tyrod Taylor.
Kyle Boller Among Those Working Out For Baltimore Ravens
Kyle Boller will work out with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday as the team looks for a backup to compete with Tyrod Taylor behind Joe Flacco. Boller spent five seasons in Baltimore after being selected No. 19 overall in the 2003 NFL Draft.

Boller, of course, didn't quite pan out like many had hoped. He spent five seasons with the Ravens, taking over as the team's unquestioned starter in his first three seasons. Injuries and uneven play derailed his progress, and Steve McNair was signed in 2006 to take over under center. Boller was placed on injured reserve and eventually released in 2008. Joe Flacco took over the reins of the offense that season as a rookie and has been the starter ever since.
Dixon and Painter have also had their struggles with injuries and shaky play in recent seasons. Any of the three could prove capable as a backup to Flacco should they be called into action. However, beating out Taylor won’t necessarily be easy, as the second-year quarterback out of Virginia Tech has earned positive reviews from Baltimore’s coaching staff.
