Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure was reportedly arrested on March 12 for a second offense of possession of marijuana and has an arraignment scheduled for Monday afternoon, according to several reports out of Detroit.

The Lions issued the following statement to the Detroit Free-Press:

“We are aware of the reports. We are gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.”

Leshoure was arrested in February for marijuana as well.

This apparently flew under the radar when it happened, as it’s just now being reported. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that Leshoure was a passenger in the car and tried to eat the marijuana to avoid the charge. NFL players who are arrested are supposed to tell their team, and it’s unclear whether Leshoure did.

Leshoure tore his Achilles’ tendon one week into training camp so he’s been spending his time on rehab. He’s expected to return to the Lions fully healthy this offseason. Leshoure is the second Lions player arrested this offseason after Johnny Culbreath was hit with marijuana possession earlier this year.

Leshoure is a former 2011 second round draft pick by the Lions. Voluntary portions of the Lions offseason program begins on Monday, April 16.
