The Miami Dolphins are gearing up for their first season under new head coach Joe Philbin, but things aren't going perfectly smooth. Last week, linebacker Cameron Wake was reported to be sitting out of voluntary team workouts. Wake was said to be displeased that he had not received a contract extension to keep him with the team beyond 2012.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Wake has rejoined the team for conditioning workouts this week.

“Cameron felt like he had to go in to speak with Joe Philbin face to face, man to man, out of respect to him as a new coach,” said agent Paul Sheehy, who represents Wake. “They spoke, and Cameron decided to work with his teammates during this voluntary period, while I work on the business side of things with the Dolphins.”

The two sides will continue to work toward a long-term contract extension. Since debuting with the Dolphins in 2009, Wake has 122 tackles, 28 sacks and four forced fumbles.
