The Cincinnati Bengals lost wide receiver Jerome Simpson in free agency during the 2012 NFL offseason, but they drafted two wide receivers in the 2012 NFL Draft to go with last year's top draft pick A.J. Green. One of those draft picks has been exactly what the Bengals had hoped for so far in mini-camp, as third-round pick Mohamed Sanu impressed head coach Marvin Lewis.
Mohamed Sanu Is Everything Bengals Thought He Would Be
“I thought (Mohamed) Sanu was everything we expected him to be. He’s going to come in here and play as a rookie and push to start and play time,” Lewis told the Cincinnati Inquirer after the mini-camp wrapped up. “I’m excited about it. These guys are going to compete for playing time and spots and make us better.”
Sanu will be in the competition to be the team's other starting wide receiver, along with fellow rookie Marvin Jones and some returning receivers from last season.
