Johnson finished with 40 tackles, nine sacks and a forced fumble playing in 15 games last season despite apparently battling through lower back pains. Though his status for OTAs beginning May 22 is unclear, Johnson is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in July.
Johnson signed a new deal with the Panthers in the summer of 2011 worth $72 million over seven years, coming off a 62-tackle, 11.5-sack 2010 season.
