Judge Dismisses D.J. Williams’ Complaint Against NFL

After he was suspended by the NFL for six games for failing a drug test, Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams filed a complaint against the NFL in an effort to overturn the suspension. On Thursday, a federal judge dismissed Williams’ compliant.

Williams was originally suspended when the NFL alleged he provided a non-human specimen in a drug test. Williams claimed the specimen he submitted was not properly safeguarded and processed. Williams filed the compliant hoping a federal judge would overturn the suspension do to procedural errors.

Williams' lawyer, Peter Ginsberg, said the linebacker would appeal the federal judge's ruling. If the ruling is upheld, Williams would be suspended for the first six games of the NFL season. Williams' Broncos teammates Virgil Green and Ryan McBean were also suspended for failed drug tests.
