On Monday, it was reported that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. Late Monday evening, some details surrounding that arrest are beginning to trickle out.

Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram reports that police responded to a family violence call Saturday involving Bryant and his fiancee, whose injuries did not require hospitalization. According to Bryant’s attorney, the receiver turned himself in Monday after learning there was a warrant for his arrest. He immediately posted $1,500 bond. Bryant has yet to comment publicly.

Bryant is facing a Class A misdemeanor charge, which could cost him up to $4,000 and a year in jail.

The Cowboys released a statement through spokesman Rich Dalrymple: “We are in the process of gathering information and will not have a comment at this time.”

This may bode ill for Bryant’s future with the Cowboys.
