Braylon Edwards Heads To Seattle On 1-Year Deal With Seahawks, According To Report

The Seattle Seahawks agreed to a one-year deal with receiver Braylon Edwards.

Braylon Edwards is a free agent no more. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Edwards will sign a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, who released another receiver, Mike Williams, a few weeks ago.

Edwards worked out for the Miami Dolphins earlier this offseason and they reportedly believed he was healthy as he recovered from a knee injury. He spent nine games with the San Francisco 49ers last year, catching just 15 balls for 181 yards.

Edwards had been productive before that, catching 53 passes for more than 900 yards and seven touchdowns with the New York Jets in the 2010 season.

He has a decent shot to make the Seahawks' 53-man roster with Golden Tate, Ben Obomanu, Doug Baldwin, Deon Butler and Ricardo Lockette in place. Given the right situation, he could be productive once again, but the Seahawks still need to figure out who will be the starting quarterback this season.
