The biggest story line of the Arizona Cardinals training camp is the quarterback battle between Kevin Kolb and John Skelton. The first point in that battle will go to Kolb, who head coach Ken Whisenhunt said would start Sunday's preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints.

The Cardinals and Saints play in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio this weekend.

Kolb suffered an injury in Monday’s practice -- right thigh contusion -- and while he may not practice on Tuesday he is still expected to be the starting quarterback on Sunday night against the Saints.

Kolb signed a multi-year deal with the Cardinals last year so he should be the favorite to start the regular season, but complicating matters is the fact that Skelton went 5-2 down the stretch last year while Kolb was out with concussion issues.

It also shouldn’t be a surprise if Skelton gets a preseason start or two to show what he can do.

It’s unclear how the reps will be divvied up on Sunday but Kolb will kick things off.
