St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford Is Recovered From Ankle Injury

St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is not bothered by the high ankle sprain that derailed his 2011 season. The team started training camp on Sunday, July 29, and so far Bradford is in tip-top shape. St. Louis' hopes for improving from their 2-14 season last year rest squarely on the shoulders of their third-year quarterback.

Bradford told the team’s official website that his ankle is not bothering him. He was still recovering from the injury in spring OTAs and minicamp. Nevertheless, Bradford and the Rams are being extremely vigilant with his status.

“I feel really good right now,” Bradford said. “My arm feels probably as strong as it’s ever felt. I think a big thing for me is maintaining that. Obviously during camp you take a lot of reps, you make a lot of throws, so staying on top of my shoulder and my body, making sure that it stays in shape is something that I am going to be really aware of this year.”

Keeping Bradford healthy will be the primary goal of the offensive line, a unit with several questions to answer as the season starts. As Jim Trotter from Sports Illustrated noted his camp report, Bradford was sacked or hit 83 times as a rookie and another 76 times in 2011, when he missed six games.
