Brandon Weeden’s Night Is Over

Brandon Weeden got the starting nod on Friday night and boy did it not go well. Stepping in as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, Weeden had what can only be described as an awful outing. It was just the first preseason game, but it didn’t exactly inspire confidence.

Weeden’s final line: 3-of-9 for 62 yards, no touchdowns, one interception and one lost fumble. Finishing with just one less turnover than completions is never a good thing. Neither is that nifty little 19.0 quarterback rating.

Colt McCoy is in now and is already blowing Weeden out of the water. At present, McCoy is 3-of-3 for 29 yards with no turnovers. Small sample and all that, but it’s nowhere near Weeden’s adventure.
