New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes potentially could miss the remainder of the preseason due to tightness in his back, according to a statement made by Jets head coach Rex Ryan on Wednesday. The discomfort in Holmes' back forced him to miss practice while he received treatment in the training room.

While Ryan stated that the 28-year-old receiver could miss the team’s final three preseason games, he personally believes he will play prior to the start of the regular season.

Holmes has spent the last two seasons with the Jets, compiling 103 receptions for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns in 28 games played.
