D.J. Williams Convicted Of Driving While Impaired Stemming From 2010 Arrest

Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams was convicted on Wednesday of driving while ability-impaired. The charge stems from a late night arrest in November 2010, when Williams was pulled over by police for driving without his headlights on; he was then arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

Williams is already facing a six-game suspension after failing a drug test, and the NFL could punish him further.

Williams is scheduled to be reinstated for the Broncos' Oct. 28 game against the New Orleans Saints, although NFL commissioner Roger Goodell could punish him further for his conviction on Wednesday.

"It will be reviewed under our policies," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

Williams started 13 games for Denver during the 2011 season and finished the year with 90 tackles, including five sacks.
