Dre Kirkpatrick Activated From Bengals PUP List

Dre Kirkpatrick has been activated from the physically unable to perform list by the Cincinnati Bengals, allowing the team to breathe a sigh of relief after they saw this year's first-round pick fracture a bone in his knee prior to workouts.

Luckily, the former Alabama cornerback didn’t have to undergo surgery, all but ensuring that he’d be available to the Bengals at some point during the preseason. Aaron Wilson was first to report the news of Kirkpatrick passing his physical.

Cincinnati Bengals rookie cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick passed his physical and was activated from the physically unable to perform list.

Kirkpatrick is recovering from a knee injury sustained during a July workout.

Despite being activated from the PUP list, Cincy Jungle reports that Kirkpatrick isn’t expected to be inserted into the lineup right away.

Despite the fact Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick returned to the practice field since offseason workouts, he admits that he's not 100 percent, "favoring my knee a little bit, even feeling a little pain." According to Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, Kirkpatrick will not play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers but will participate during the preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts.
