New York Jets safety LaRon Landry will not be fined for his hit on New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz in last Saturday's preseason game, the NFL announced on Friday.

Cruz caught a ball thrown over the middle by Eli Manning when Landry connected on an open field hit in an attempt to break up the play. There was no flag thrown and Cruz was able to complete the reception. However, there was some question as to whether Landry led with his helmet while attempting to make the tackle.

However, upon reviewing the situation, the league has decided that they do not believe there to be any negligence on Landry’s part and have withheld discipline.
