Vikings Cut 15 Players Before Roster Cut Deadline

NFL teams are required to cut their rosters down to 75 players by Monday, but after losing a preseason game 12-10 to the San Diego Chargers on Friday night, the Minnesota Vikings wasted no time, releasing 15 players from their roster on Saturday afternoon.

The players Minnesota released on Saturday are:

G Bridger Buche
RB Derrick Coleman
G Grant Cook
LB Solomon Elimimian
DB Corey Gatewood
OT Levi Horn
DT Anthony Jacobs
WR Kamar Jorden
WR AJ Love
LB Tyler Nielsen
DE Ernest Owusu
DT Tydreke Powell
DB Chris Stroud
WR Kerry Taylor
WR Bryan Walters

The roster will be trimmed again before the regular season, that time down to 53 players.

With the Friday loss to San Diego, the Vikings are now 1-2 in the 2012 preseason. The Vikings return to action on Thursday when they travel to Reliant Stadium to face the Houstan Texans in their fourth and final preseason game.

Minnesota begins the regular season on Sunday, Sept. 9 when the Vikings host the Jacksonville Jaguars at Mall of America Field.
